Brisons Class

Hello and welcome to Brisons class. I am Miss Mitchell and I teach Brisons class along with the help of Mrs Jackson and Mrs Charlotte Lane. We are a class of 28 year 2/3 children. This term we are really enjoying learning about World War 1 in our topic work. We have had lots of photos, medals and documents from family members to look at and share. We have recently moved into our larger classroom and have a wonderfully bright adjoining learning space called Longships. This is also where our hamster Mrs 007 lives.

Children really enjoy starting the day with their take ten activities.

‘I enjoy wake and shake because it helps me to be fit, stretch and wakes me up.’

Every other Friday we take part in ‘Big Write’ session where the children have writing time to write their wonderful stories once we have planned, discussed and played some fun literacy games together.

‘Big Write gives me a chance to think and write my stories. It is really quiet and peaceful.’

Children have been working hard on their handwriting and we are enjoying using new handwriting activities to get ready for writing.

‘I enjoy handwriting because it gives me time to practise and get neater at my work.’

Brisons is a happy, hardworking class and the children enjoy filling their marble jar up for a class treat along with looking forward to the class sleepover at the end of the school year.

About Me

I teach in Brisons classroom and enjoy working and living by the sea. I enjoy running club on a Wednesday with the children and taking in Sennen’s beautiful sights. Circuits is another fun club the children enjoy when the weather turns a bit colder. Outside of school I love to be creative and enjoy sewing and painting. I enjoy bringing this creative side into my teaching especially with Art or DT with the children. I love to cook, read and keep fit in my spare time, particularly taking long walks on the beach with my dog, Betty.
