Spring Term 1

This term the children will be learning about Addition and Subtraction within 100 and Multiplication and Division making sure they get lots of practical practice during lessons. In English the Year 1 children will be learning about what makes a good sentence and how to write one then they will move on to writing a recount letter. The Year 2 children will start the term by learning and creating their own non-chronological report. They will then move on to write a recount letter alongside Year 1s. 

Our main focus is Geography where we will be learning about the similarties and differences between Sennen and  village in Zambia called Mugurameno. We will be looking at the villages human and physical features, their houses and they resoures they have around them. In D.T we will be looking at nutrition, we will also be learning the skills we need to make a smoothie such as cutting fruit, juicing fruit and testing ingredients. In RE we will be will find out about Islam, key beliefs and ways of living for Muslims. Pupils will learn about some of the key Muslim beliefs about God found in the Shahadah and learn about the 99 names of Allah.
